DanseWolf was born in a vivid dream. During her slumber, Juls D was thumbing through records in the now defunct historic Tower Records on Sunset Blvd, when she came across a Madonna album. The album cover was completely black except for the word ‘DanseWolf’ in glowing green. Juls D was ready for the stage, and this subconscious demand was the catalyst.
Juls D from birth was a square peg in a round hole. Never really ran with the suburban sheltered pack of her classmates. Instead, always chose the more colorful route, the path no one expected her to travel. A few months in, Juls D invited a guitarist named Andy to jam with the band. That night, he played guitar while Juls D crooned, and the story never changed. Then during the summer of 2009, DanseWolf finally completed the search for their final member when they found Melissa through some friends. Once she jammed with the band, there was no question it was a perfect fit.
It took more than one year to bring the pack together, and now Juls D, Andy and Melissa have nurtured the idea to fruition. Stray beats and hummed concepts at inception have matured into a true fusion of indie rock, blues and electronic with a backbone of soul. The seductively powerful vocals of Juls D weave through the Melissa’s hard-hitting beats and Andy’s vibrant riffs. DanseWolf’s pumping energy builds up in their audience bringing them to an imminent cathartic release.
